Susana Gonzalez
Susana is a Neurodiversity specialist teacher and dyslexia assessor who supports Neurodivergent young people in mainstream schools as well as their families and teachers.
With expertise in ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia, OCD, and Giftedness, Susana draws from her personal experience as a parent and teacher of able ND young people to help others navigate the challenges of the world of education and beyond.
Susana is a Qualified Teacher who has taught Chemistry and Science in UK secondary schools for 18 years. She has held a number of academic and pastoral roles including Head of Chemistry, Head of Year 12 and SEN Teacher.
Susana has completed specialist teacher training at the Institute of Education (UCL) obtaining Accredited Teacher Status and Accredited Practitioner Status. She is currently an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association.
Susana believes that neurodiversity-informed adults are crucial to support the academic development and wellbeing of ND young people. She has conducted numerous teacher training sessions on Neurodiversity and Learning as well as parent webinars and parent courses. In addition she ran, ND Bright Brains’ School, a 6-week course for teens which educates and empowers Neurodivergent students through self-understanding and self-care.
Susana has championed Neurodiversity as a focus area within her department, implementing inclusive teaching practices such as online resource sharing, exam review sheets, and video-exam walk-throughs.
Prior to teaching, she worked in the corporate sector and holds a First Class honours degree in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Bath.
